The Importance of Fans in Power Generation
Forced draft, induced draft and dust control fans all feature in power generation applications, with industrial fans needing to be able to operate effectively at extremely high temperatures. In order to do this, fans must undergo special construction features, and have heat-resistant paint finishes: both of which we do at Woodcock & Wilson.
One thing we always take into account, is the fact that excessive heat build-up is likely in the bearings, so we include specific features in our fan designs to help avoid this.
Another common feature of the power generation industry, is high particulate content in the gas stream, which may require fans with self-cleaning impeller designs; and gas-fired generation requires ATEX fans, which we can help with too.
